My name is Claris Dabah and I am from Mexico City. The project I am working on is developing a course curriculum focused on reducing stress levels while increasing the love for learning. I have an unyielding passion for acquiring knowledge; however, I think that the result-based method of education is killing my passion for learning, and this is mainly what inspired me to do this project. I have been exposed to three different educational backgrounds, each with a different system that contributed in some way to my perception of education. I went to school in Mexico City up until 9th grade, then in Boston for 10th grade, and am now doing 11th grade here at Emma. I decided to switch schools because I wanted to be further challenged and learn more. However, during my first weeks here I was overwhelmed by the stress in the atmosphere and the amount of quizzes and tests per class. I discovered that we are being caught up in the results and grades we obtain, instead of focusing on what we learn. This led me to question myself about the efficiency of the current system employed in schools, and this is how I got the idea for this project.
